Patricio Robles Gil will bring his passion for conservation to Summit 2024 Cities with a Future. No fear of action

The photographer and activist will exhibit on the centennial trees of the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir, together with experts in reforestation and conservation.

The prominent conservation activist and photographer, Patricio Robles Gilwill be one of the protagonists of the Summit 2024 Cities with a Future. No fear of actionorganized by Sea of Cortez Forumwhere he will participate in one of the short talks scheduled for the event, from November 13 to 15.

Robles Gil, founder of Agrupación Sierra Madre S.C. y United for Conservation A.C.will share his experience in the protection of Mexican ecosystems, with a focus on the majestic centenary trees of the San Pedro Mártir mountain range.

Accompanied by Juan Vargas Velazcohead of the Californian Condor Reintroduction Program, and Ernesto Herrera GuerraRobles Gil, representative of Reforestamos Mexico, will speak about the importance of the conservation of long-lived species such as pines, firs and cedars that inhabit this National Park in Baja California.

His talk will highlight the campaign Sentinels of San Pedro Mártiran initiative of Reforestamos Mexico which allows interested parties to adopt these imposing trees to ensure their preservation.

This is not the first conservation project promoted by Robles Gil at the Sea of Cortez Forum Summit. In the 2023 edition, under the slogan Prosperity: Purpose Possible, he launched a campaign for the adoption of California condors, reintroduced into the San Pedro Mártir mountain range after more than two decades of efforts.

With more than 20 years of experience as an activist, Robles Gil has dedicated his life to the conservation of Mexico's biodiversity and the protection of its wild lands. His work includes the publication of nearly 30 books on nature, culture and conservation, as well as the creation of graphic works focused on Mexico's ethnic groups. His most recent publication, "Painted bodies, wild rituals."The project mixes art and ecology to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.

The 2024 Summit will bring together experts and leaders in sustainability to discuss how the cities of the future can be more resilient and environmentally responsible, and Robles Gil will provide his vision on conservation as a fundamental axis to achieve that goal.
