Based on this problem, Fernandez is leading the Alliance for the Food Security of Baja California Suran initiative that seeks to create sustainable solutions to reduce the food insecurity and promote the corporate sustainability.
Among the most noteworthy achievements, he mentioned the creation of two food banks which collect 80 tons of food per month, redistributed to more than 90 community kitchens benefiting 80,000 people, mostly children.
The alliance also works with companies, such as restaurants and hotels, to implement food handling efficiency projects, thereby reducing waste and promoting a more efficient use of food. circular economy.
"This not only improves business profitability, but generates positive impact on communities," he added.
