Los Cabos, BCS. _ Before leaders from Baja California, Baja California Sur, Nayarit, Sinaloa and Sonora, Radamés Díaz Meza called to address the challenges faced by the Sea of Cortés Region and build the dreams shared by these five entities.
In his welcoming speech to the Summit 2024 Cities with a Future. No fear of actionthe Chief Executive Officer of Sea of Cortez Forum thanked the attendees for attending the fourth summit of this non-profit organization.
Beyond all that overwhelms us today, he said, there is always a dawn and hope for Mexico to improve.
"We will have three days together to talk, visualize and understand what is best for us to do as a region. Let's take this gift of time that we give ourselves to also review the decision making in the company, in the family and personally," he urged.
Díaz Meza called to leave worries behind, to review concerns in the light of expert opinion, to make the Summit a space for deep reflection, attention and analysis, in order to take the decisive step that today's conscience demands and act accordingly.
Among the common challenges faced by the five states in the region, he mentioned water stress, security, connectivity, urban planning, the rule of law, organized crime that steals space from citizens, raw discharges into the Sea of Cortez, garbage management, water treatment, drainage, river and estuary contamination, among others.
"May our region be distinguished, may our treasures in custody such as our biodiversity and this beautiful Sea of Cortez be preserved and may our personal, family and business prosperity never stop," he said.
