On the last day of the Summit, Krause will give a lecture on the Plenary Lecture: History of the U.S.-Mexico Relationship and will later participate in a conversation with Agustín Coppel LukenHonorary President of Sea of Cortez ForumThe two countries will reflect on the relationship between the two countries in the framework of the Sea of Cortez region.

Born in Mexico City, Krauze holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a PhD in History from El Colegio de México. His academic and professional career is vast and remarkable, standing out as editor, critic, historian and writer.
Its imprint on the culture
Krauze has left a mark on Mexican and Latin American culture. In 1976, he was awarded the Magda Donato Award for his work Caudillos culturales en la Revolución mexicana. A year later, he began his collaboration with Octavio Paz in the magazine Vuelta, where he was editor-in-chief from 1977 to 1981 and deputy director from 1981 to 1996.
In 1992, he founded the publishing house Clio and, in 1999, the magazine Free Letterswhich has had an important circulation in several Spanish-speaking countries. His entry into the Mexican Academy of History in 1990 marked another milestone in his career.
A life of recognition
Throughout his career, Krauze has received numerous recognitions, among them the Comillas Biography Award in Spain (1993), the Grand Cross of the Order of Alfonso X, the Wiseawarded by the Spanish Government (2003), and the Grand Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic (2008). In addition, it was listed as one of the 100 global intellectuals according to Prospect and Foreign Policy magazines.
In 2010, the Government of Mexico awarded him with the National Prize for Sciences and Arts in the category of History, Social Sciences and Philosophy. Two years later, the Caballero Bonald Foundation awarded him the Caballero Bonald International Essay Prize for his book Redeemers. More recently, in 2021, he received the III Spanish Orders History Award.
Krauze has also had a distinguished academic career as a visiting professor at the St. Anthony's College (1981 and 1983), in The Wilson Center (1987) and in Princeton University (2013).
His influence and thought have transcended borders, collaborating in English-language media such as Dissent Magazine, The New Republic, The New York Review of Books and The New York Times.
Among his most outstanding works are Biography of power (Fondo de Cultura Económica, 1987), Century of caudillos (Tusquets, 1994) and The imperial presidency (Tusquets, 1997).
