Treviño de Hoyos distinguished himself as municipal president of San Pedro Garza GarciaNuevo León, from 2018 to 2021, a period during which the municipality led the country as the safest in Mexico, according to the National Urban Public Safety Survey (ENSU) of INEGI.
He holds a degree in economics from Tec de Monterrey, a master's degree in political science from Columbia University and a master's degree in economic development from the London School of Economics and Political Science. In addition, he has taught at the EGADE and has collaborated with publications such as NEXOS, Reforma and Letras Libres.
Treviño de Hoyos' experience in the public sector includes work at the Ministry of Commerce and Industrial Development and the Ministry of Social Development.
As part of his civic work, he founded the Oaxaca Groupa collective that was a precursor of the Federal Transparency Law; he was the Director of the Civic Councilwhere he developed and promoted the accountability initiative "Alcalde, ¿cómo vamos? National Public Safety Council.
He is the founder of Risköpa consulting firm specializing in risk mitigation of the operating environment in the mining, energy, bottling and commercial sectors. It has carried out projects in 20 Mexican states, as well as in Colombia and Argentina.
