Shannon O'Neil, expert on Mexico-U.S. relations, to speak on sustainable nearshoring at Summit 2023

The Sea of Cortez Region Leaders Summit will be held this November 8, 9 and 10.

The expert in global trade and the U.S.-Mexico relationship, Shannon O'Neilwill be part of the line up of speakers that will have the Summit 2023 Prosperity: A Possible Purposewhich Sea of Cortez Forum will be held from November 8 to 10 at Los CabosBaja California Sur.

O'Neil, who holds a bachelor's degree in YaleD. in International Relations also from Yale and a Ph.D. in Government from the University of California at Berkeley. Harvard Universityis vice-president, deputy director of studies and senior member of Nelson and David Rockefeller for Latin American Studies in the Council on Foreign Relations.

The expert in global trade and supply chains, MexicoLatin America and Democracy will participate in the Summit 2023 with the conference Sustainable Nearshoring for the Sea of Cortez Region.

O'Neil is the author of the book The myth of globalization: why regions matter (The Globalization Myth: Why Regions Matter), in which he chronicles the emergence of the three major global manufacturing and supply chain hubs and what they mean for U.S. economic competitiveness.

He also wrote Two indivisible nations: Mexico, the United States, and the road ahead (Two Nations Indivisible: Mexico, the United States, and the Road Ahead), in which he analyzes the political, economic, and social transformations Mexico has undergone over the past three decades and why they are important to the United States.

A qualified voice

D. in Government, who has lived in Mexico and Argentina, is a columnist for Bloomberg Opinion and a frequent guest on national news and radio programs. In addition, she has testified frequently before Congress and speaks regularly at academic, business and global policy conferences.

She was a scholar Fulbright and intern at Justice, Welfare and Economy at Harvard University. He has taught Latin American Politics at Columbia University.

Experience in the private sector

O'Neil worked as an equity analyst at Indosuez Capital and Credit Lyonnais Securities.
