challenge of integrating the <strong>artificial intelligence<\/strong> (IA) to their production processes without deepening existing inequalities.<\/p><p>With this approach, the <strong>Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean<\/strong> (ECLAC) and the <strong>United Nations Conference on Trade and Development<\/strong> (UNCTAD) organized the seminar <strong>\"Artificial intelligence for productivity and development.\"<\/strong>The event was attended by experts, officials and representatives of the private sector to analyze the challenges and opportunities of this technology in the region.<\/p><p>During the meeting, both organizations presented recent studies conceived as inputs for the formulation of public policies focused on a <strong>inclusive development<\/strong>. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section solve<\/strong><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-1edd4d4 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"1edd4d4\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>\u00c1ngel Gonz\u00e1lez-Sanz<\/strong>UNCTAD's head of Science, Technology and Information, presented the <a href=\"https:\/\/unctad.org\/es\/publication\/informe-sobre-tecnologia-e-innovacion-2025\"><strong>Technology and Innovation Report 2025: Inclusive Artificial Intelligence for Development<\/strong><\/a> in which it is noted that the accelerated progress of the<strong> IA<\/strong> can widen the gaps if adequate governance frameworks are not in place.<\/p><p>The report proposes three pillars for responsible adoption:<\/p><ul><li>Technological infrastructure<\/li><li>Human capabilities<\/li><li>Data<\/li><\/ul><p>In addition, it stresses that the <strong>IA<\/strong> should complement human labor, not replace it, and that developing countries need strategies adapted to their contexts, not imported models.<\/p><p>From ECLAC, <strong>Sebastian Rovira<\/strong> underlined that the investment in <strong>IA<\/strong> at <strong>Latin America<\/strong> remains low, with figures below 0.05% of GDP in countries such as Argentina and Brazil.<\/p><p>He warned that real impact is only achieved when combined with robust digital ecosystems, skilled talent and strengthened institutions.<\/p><blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><em>\"We have many elements to enhance a more articulated regional work, minimizing fragmentation and taking advantage of our capabilities to accelerate the digital transformation,\" he considered.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><p>One second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cepal.org\/es\/publicaciones\/81911-factores-determinantes-la-adopcion-la-inteligencia-artificial-empresas-un\">study<\/a>The study, focused on Brazil, shows that factors such as company size, technological environment and prior use of <strong>digital technologies<\/strong> directly influence the adoption of <strong>IA<\/strong>.
