Tatiana Bilbao, the creative mind behind the design of the Grand Mazatlan Aquarium, at Summit 2023

Tatiana Bilbaothe creative mind behind the architectural design of the Great Mazatlan Sea of Cortez Aquariumwill be part of the line-up of speakers who will participate in the Summit 2023 Prosperity: A Possible Purpose.

The summit organized by Sea of Cortez Forum will be held from November 8 to 10, in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, where the renowned architect will participate in a discussion on The Sea of Cortez Aquariumtogether with the entrepreneur Ernesto Coppel Kelly.

The theme of the discussion will be the impact of this project in Mexico and the world for the preservation of biodiversity.

Tatiana Bilbao was born in Mexico City in 1972 and studied architecture at the University of Mexico. Iberoamerican University. It has catapulted to different frontiers with projects in Europe, Asia and America, which has earned it awards such as the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture (2014), the Kunstpreis Berlin Award (2012) y Architizer Impact Award (2017).

In 2010 she was named as a Emerging Voice of the Architecture Leage of New York. In December of that same year, some of her projects were selected to be part of the Architecture Collection of the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, France. She has been invited as a visiting professor at various universities such as Rise University, Columbia University and Yale University.

His work has been recognized by several organizations, such as the BBVA Bancomer Foundation y The Pollock-Krasner Foundation. He also received the Arco Comunidad de Madrid Prize for Young Artists, among many others.

Tatiana Bilbao started her eponymous studio in 2004 with the aim of integrating social values, collaboration and sensitive design approaches to architectural work. The office's work intersects with research allowing her to design for diverse circumstances and scenarios of reconstruction or crisis.

Bilbao holds a recurrent teaching position at Yale University School of Architecture and has taught at Harvard University GSD, AA Association in London, Columbia University GSAPP, Rice University, Universidad de Andrés Bello in Chile and Peter Behrens School of Arts at HS Dusseldorf in Germany. His work has been published in The New York Times, A+U, Domus, among others.
