Reaching the first world implies having a more inclusive and sustainable society: Salvador Alva.

Los Cabos, BCS. November 9, 2023. The Sea of Cortés Region can be a great place to live with prosperitythrough a society that is more inclusive and sustainableif their leadership is able to articulate a vision that is proactive, attractive, aspirational and distinctive, he said. Salvador Alva Gomez.

"If we want to enter the first world, we have to be a more inclusive and sustainable society. Our opportunity is to start building new poles, new well-planned islands of prosperity", said the founder of Novo Capital and former Rector of the Monterrey Technological System.

He indicated that there are two strategic paths: trying to be better and being unique.

"My proposal is: let's try to articulate something that no one has imagined," he said.

Alva gave the lecture Private Enterprise in the Sea of Cortez Forum's 2040 Dream Guide. A disruptive visionduring the Summit 2023 Prosperity: A Possible Purpose.

He listed the possible strategies that can be employed by the Sea of Cortés Region:

  • Improve what you already have, which is to try to do better the things you already do.
  • Take advantage of "gold mine" opportunities, such as nearshoring.
  • Creating blue oceans, which is creating an environment for companies that offer different solutions.

"The proposal is, let's try to go for a blue ocean, without taking away the basis that we are going to look for easy-cut projects as well. A blue ocean has the capacity to change competitive advantages and has the strength to change the rules of the market," he said.

Alva proposes islands of prosperity

For the future, in the Sea of Cortés Region poles can be created or islands of prosperitySalvador Alva said, taking advantage of its strategic geographic location.

"I see the Sea of Cortez as a great opportunity, the challenge is to create prosperity poles for a sustainable and inclusive world. I do believe that this thought can create a global movement, because we are in a privileged area," he said.

Alva Gómez emphasized that if the Sea of Cortés Region articulate and communicate its vision through this Forum, it will be as Davos everyone will want to come to, because regardless of the fact that I am not here today, they will know that there is a blue ocean coming, full of opportunities.
