Shea is recognized for his commitment to accelerating social and economic development in Latin America. "I dream of a Latin America with opportunities for all," he states on his Linkedin profile.
He is founder and CEO of Cumplo and has positioned this platform as the leader in crowdfunding for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region, with operations in Chile y Mexico.
The Chilean entrepreneur is also the founder of G100, a philanthropic network established in 2018, which brings together more than 100 experienced entrepreneurs with the aim of boosting entrepreneurship in Chile and Latin America. The "Group of 100" is distinguished by its focus on the 4Cs: advice, contacts, love and capital, providing comprehensive support to early-stage entrepreneurs.
With a solid academic background, Nicolas Shea holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (Sloan Fellow) from the University of California, Berkeley. Stanford University (2008-2009), a Master's Degree in Education of the Columbia University (2001-2002) and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Catholic University of Chile (1993-1997).
In addition to his role as an entrepreneur, Shea has contributed to academia as a professor of entrepreneurship at Catholic University since 2015. He is the author of the book "Start-Up Chile: The story of Chile's entrepreneurial revolution". (2015), which documents the transformation of the Chilean entrepreneurial ecosystem.
His career has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Young Innovative Entrepreneur Award of the Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce (2015), the distinction as the Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (2014), and the Avonni National Innovation Award for Complianceo (2014) and Start-Up Chile (2011). In 2013, he was awarded as Entrepreneur of the Year by the Chilean Association of Engineers.
