How to move from individual to collective leadership, Katrin Käufer explains

Cómo trascender del liderazgo individual al colectivo, Katrin Käufer lo explica.

Los Cabos, BCS. November 9, 2023. Participating as a speaker at the Summit 2023 Prosperity: A Possible Purpose, Katrin Käufer highlighted the characteristics that a company should have leadership and how it can transcend from the individual to the collective to transform a region such as the one comprised by the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Nayarit, Sinaloa y Sonoraaround Sea of Cortez.

The director of the Just Money Programof the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), clarified that leadership is personal, so how a person is and how they pay attention is important to look beneath the underlying levels that are not visible.

"The more complex the challenge, the deeper we have to go. So, if it's an easy problem, we don't have to talk about intent, but if you are facing the development of a region, if we are facing a climate catastrophe, we have to ask ourselves, what is the purpose? Why are we doing this?" he posed.

Käufer explained that in order to get from point A to point B, which is to reach the goals and objectives, the journey has two elements: the process and the quality of the process, through listening from the usual, from the inside, from the outside and from the source.

"The mission of a leadership is to listen and open our intellect for co-creation. The role of leadership is the ability to put ourselves in the perspective of others, to reflect and to be co-creative," he said.

Moving from the individual to the collective through a change of consciousness

The MIT academic explained that it is possible to move from individual to collective leadership by bringing together various stakeholders in the region and working together, but a process that builds trust must be designed.

"We have this whole region here and the question is, how do we move away from this individual to a collective? One of the founders of Action Research said, 'If you want to understand something, you have to step in and change it; if you just stay on the outside, you'll never understand it.' So that's a good indicator," he explained.

Katrin Käufer stressed that if these states see themselves as a complete region, with its advantages, its potential and its challenges, they have to create spaces for a change of consciousness to be activated.

"To be able to make this change you have to make the system see and feel itself, this is to see and feel the system I am part of. What happens the moment you see yourself as part of something? It activates your intentionality, so if you want to activate this region, it is necessary to create spaces for it to be seen as a whole," he said.

Kaufer recognized the missing link in the need to transform the way we build our businesses and economy is the combination of social technologies and an activation structure that allows people to tap into their potential, something that can be done in this region.
